About SafePlay+

SafePlay+ is a youth athlete health monitoring and injury prevention platform founded in 2025 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Our Mission

Make youth athlete health monitoring accessible to every family, regardless of income or access to athletic trainers. Over 3.5 million children are injured annually playing sports, and more than 50% of these injuries are preventable through monitoring and early intervention.

Our Team

SafePlay+ content is created and reviewed by qualified professionals across four specialist teams:

Sports Medicine Team

Board-certified sports medicine physicians and certified athletic trainers (ATC) with experience in youth athlete injury prevention, concussion management, and return-to-play protocols. They review all injury-related content and clinical guidance.

Nutrition Team

Registered dietitians (RD) and sports nutritionists specializing in youth athlete performance nutrition, growth-stage dietary needs, and hydration science.

Mental Health Team

Licensed sport psychologists and mental performance coaches with expertise in youth athlete mental health, burnout prevention, resilience building, and performance anxiety.

Editorial Team

Our editorial team ensures all content meets clinical accuracy standards, is age-appropriate, and reflects the latest evidence-based research in youth sports medicine.

Evidence-Based Approach

All SafePlay+ content and protocols are grounded in peer-reviewed research from:

  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) — HEADS UP concussion guidelines, youth injury data
  • American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) — Overuse injury prevention, sport specialization guidelines
  • International Olympic Committee (IOC) — Youth athlete development framework, load management
  • National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) — Emergency action plans, heat illness prevention
